He also runs his own consultancy, MEDGEO: Middle East Geology & Energy Ltd, registered and based in Amman Jordan and has carried out projects for Trans-Global Petroleum Corporation (Dead Sea Project, Jordan), JOGMEC and Shell (Calub Hilala fields in Ethiopia).

Joey holds a BSc. in Geoscience from the University of Western Ontario, and completed a thesis project which focused on determining a geochemical signature that can be used for further exploration for expanding reserves on the Upper Beaver deposit, northern Ontario. Joey has recently graduated from the University of Houston with a professional MSc. in Petroleum Geology. Joey completed his master’s project interpreting seismic and well data in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, working with Brooks Range Petroleum and Thyssen Petroleum.
